PHILOSOPHY The key to education is to love what you do and I love what I do. There's nothing more rewarding than seeing students' progress. As I teach with love and I create a fun environment for students (using games to practice the language), students become involved and interested in the classroom. I have also tutored one-on-one and I prepare a lot of different activities for the class and exercises for the student to be able to practice the language when I'm not there. I have been attending Northern Illinois University for the past 3 years and so far have had a great experience. I am double majoring in Spanish and geography and have had good success in both subject areas with a cumulative GPA of 3.95. They are both interests of mine and I have definitely improved during my time at NIU. I think I am qualified to share what I've learned with others who need help in either area and really enjoy working with people.
I think teaching style should depend on the student. Some people move at different paces or learn better from listening or from doing the work themselves with supervision and help. I am flexible with any style and once I become familiar with a person it becomes easier to see how they learn best.

I have recently graduated from the University of Delaware and intend to pursue a Ph.D. in chemistry within the next few years. My teaching style is learner-centered, constructivist, and practical. I believe that a teacher must get to know her students on a personal level to facilitate the best learning. By ascertaining a student’s current knowledge and beliefs about a particular subject, I am able to help students advance to their fullest potential.
