Algebra II is one of my top subjects! Have taught Algebra II for the past 10 years.

I like to take concepts and apply them to topics and fields that you are interested in. Math can be applied so many different ways, and when that connection is made at a personal level, it makes it that much more relevant.
Have taught at the high school level for the past 10 years. I have served as a tutor at the high school and college levels for the past four years. I have my Master's in Education and have a degree in Mathematics as well. I have taught levels of math ranging from 8th grade math, all the way up to college level calculus and statistics. I love the application of math and finding the "why" in what is that most people struggle with math.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have worked with children of all ages and enjoy helping them learn. I realize that everyone does not learn at the same speed and am very patient and understanding. I believe that all children have the right to a quality education and over the years have spent as much time as I could helping any child that needed that extra one-on-one. Each child has their own unique personality and a teacher's approach needs to be fit to that student's needs. Learning is fun and all children deserve the chance to learn.
I was not able to obtain a teaching job when I graduated from college so went to work in the field of business. Every student learns differently but they all respond to a few tricks I've learned. Positive feedback helps all student gain confidence and reduce their frustration while learning. Examples are key to almost every tutoring session, the trick is knowing what example to use. Leading the student to find the answer themself builds their confidence and increases understanding. I worked as the department tutor for a first semester calculus based physics course at my university. I also graded undergraduate physics homework for second semester calculus based physics. Throughout my undergraduate education, I worked as a research during the summer and post graduation, I spent continued school for a year as a graduate student. Then I took a year off to see the world as a consultant. Now I'm planning on going back to school full time in the fall for electrical engineering and am currently getting taking a few courses part time to prepare me for the return.
