Changing The World, One Child AT A Time

I was an assistant teacher to a 3rd grade class at Wilson's Mills Elementary from 2001 until 2003. My duties included assisted the teacher and helping the students in a manner to help them learn at their pace. And I also have an 8 year old son who attends River Dell Elementary. I help him on a daily basis with his homework, which includes math, reading and writing. I love kids and it brings great joy to my life to see the smile on their faces when they learn something new, or figure out the answer to a problem they are working on.

My comments on tutoring Grammar : I know the basics of grammar to help young adults. But that is not stopping me to become a better person with grammar.

I don't really got a teaching style it changes depending on the person that needs help.
I have experience with young kids and young adults to help them be successful in the near future. I have heard so many great fee back from the people that I helped and it made me feel good about myself that I can help change peoples lives. I began teaching in 1976 in Tarboro, NC. My first teaching experience was in the middle school, grade 8. After that year, I taught fourth grade for 6 years. My next assignment was teaching at a junior high school grade 8 Language Arts, and grade 9 Basic English, and Diagnostic and Prescriptive Reading. This was followed by teaching middle school grade 6 for 5 years. A Little Bit About Me...

I 19 and have an Associate in Science and an Associate in Arts. I have been taking college classes since I was a Jr in High School , and I have been tutoring my friends and younger relatives since the 6th grade. I have tutored subjects ranging from linear algebra to college calculus. I have never done formal tutoring ,and I think the most I have ever been paid for my tutoring services was a meal at cookout.

I love when I can help others!

I am going to school to become a teacher in the grades of kindergarten through 5th, I have been a nanny for several people and have enjoyed it completely! During my nanny duties, I would of course have a home-schooling section and would also help around the house when needed, so I think that I am a very good candidate for teaching basics and other subjects to help kids better themselves and their studies!

Making Learning Fun and Easy!

My teaching style is to move at the students pace - however slowly or quickly that may be. I don't mind being asked the same questions. In fact, I believe that there is no such thing as a bad question, and that a student should ask a question as many times as s/he feels it is necessary to do so.

Grammar is one of my top subjects! I am exceptional in grammar.

A Little Bit About Me...

I love to teach by using the hands on technique. I will do whatever I can to see that the student grasp what is being taught. It is so neat to watch how sometimes you will see the light flick on and you know they "have it". I also will provide hand outs and use the computer to give them extra practice.
I have four children of my own and home schooled each one through elementary school and some middle school. They returned to public school for middle school where I then provided tutoring for other classmates. I know sometimes math as well and other subjects come harder for one than the other so I realize the tutoring session needs to be geared toward that particular child.
