A Little Bit About Me...

I try to make things as fun as possible, and I try to help the student understand by putting the subject in a way that suits their interests. I like to joke around with the students, because it puts them at ease, and it develops a relationship with them that is hard to come by. Without that relationship, the teaching is harder, and the learning is harder. I still get the curriculum across, but in a way that the student understands.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have always been gifted in mathematics, and I feel that is is my duty to help others achieve the success that I have. I earned a BS from Bucknell University in mathematics and I am now working towards a PhD in statistics at NC State University. I have taken education courses and I have worked with professors to run "gifted and talented" mathematic courses for students.
I have always found that the best teachers are the ones who are able to explain the same concept in a variety of ways, so this is what I seek to do when teaching. I was a full time babysitter during my sophomore year of college. I sat for a 1st grader and 5th grader. I would help them with their homework and study for tests. The first grader was having a hard time with his subtractions and I tutored him in math.
