I most enjoyed teaching young adults and adults as they prepared for tangible competencies and careers. By my encouraging this group of diverse students to help me assess their work through journal writing, they became partners. Native speakers of English, believing that their communication skills were up to par, identified weaknesses and worked at correcting them; for other students, the course served as remedial instruction or a wake-up call.

In addition to tutoring college level students I have worked with elementary and middle school children in church youth groups, assisting with bible verse memorization and reading skills,as well as staging music productions.
