My job as an educator is to teach them how to learn it and make them want to learn it. I personally do not believe that negative reinforcement is beneficial. Positive responses to students are extremely valuable, even if they may occasionally give the wrong answer. This will give them the motivation to do well. Elementary Reading is one of my top subjects! I have 13 years in Elementary Education teaching K. I have an understanding of what is expected in the early grades.
