I have been doing something in music for 30 years. I have a B.A in music from Wright State University which I obtained in 2003. I also have 6 years of private music instruction on various instruments. I have played in several different groups consisting of a wide range of music. I have classical training but I also know how to teach rock, pop, jazz and metal on certain instruments

A Little Bit About Me...

I feel very strongly that every child has the ability to learn when they are given the right encouragement. While working on my Japanese minor I quickly discovered that finding a method that works for an individual student is the most important part of studying productively. I feel that my fresh, creative outlook will supplement the classroom experience well and offer alternative methods to learning that may not be available at your child's school.
While I have not tutored academically in the past, I have taught my community's equivalent of the DARE program to fourth grade classes for two years and have also taught art lessons to children of all ages.

I believe that all children should receive the extra help that they need. Often time in the classroom, a teacher does not have the time to give the support of the needs of each student in the classroom. Teachers and tutors should try their best to make sure they focus on individual needs of the students so that they can help them succeed.
As a recent college graduate, I feel that I have received the formal training necessary to become a teacher. I have obtained a BS in Early Childhood Education. When I first attended Wilmington College, I was in early childhood education. I completed a whole semester of student teaching and volunteered for tutoring after school. I finally had decided that teaching was not for me because I wanted more of an office setting job so i decided to major in business management. I have decided that I want to pursue in subsitute teaching so that I am able to help children and spend more time with my newborn.
Nothing is better than seeing a huge smile on a child's face once they cath on to something. I love helping children learn by doing a lot of visual activities and practicing! I was always the only person who could help my younger sister study for tests because she said my teaching techinique is very helpful and makes her remember things. It always made me feel good knowing i was the only one who could help her study!
