I have over 60 credit hours completed towards a degree in music. My focus as a music student was voice, but I also spent a lot of time studying African American music. A Little Bit About Me...

While I have not tutored academically in the past, I have taught my community's equivalent of the DARE program to fourth grade classes for two years and have also taught art lessons to children of all ages.
I feel very strongly that every child has the ability to learn when they are given the right encouragement. While working on my Japanese minor I quickly discovered that finding a method that works for an individual student is the most important part of studying productively. Often time in the classroom, a teacher does not have the time to give the support of the needs of each student in the classroom. Teachers and tutors should try their best to make sure they focus on individual needs of the students so that they can help them succeed.
As a recent college graduate, I feel that I have received the formal training necessary to become a teacher. I have obtained a BS in Early Childhood Education.
