For the 2011-2012 school year, I was a math tutor for Charles E. Nash Elementary school in Ft. worth/TX. In the evening and on weekend, I also tutor students in grade level ranging from 4th graders to college students. The most effective methods for teaching math to any students level is to make it relevant, connect math content to every days' life. We use math everyday and yet most of our youngster don't even realize that, especially when it comes to higher math level like calculus or even algebra. The basic foundation math skill is add/subtract/multiply/and divide and this essential skill must be mastered by the time you complete your 5th grade level. I first began tutoring in mathematics with my brother in law over the phone and quickly branched out from there. I have earned two bachelor degrees, BS in General Physics and BS in Secondary Education, which has given me an excellent background in science and mathematics.
