Certified Teacher Looking To Help Others As A Tutor

I prefer to have materials prepared prior to any tutoring session so communication ahead of time will be essential. If I have an idea of what is expected of me then I am able to help modify the session to fit the learner. I like to use both direct teach as well as discussion to help guide the tutoring session.
I have a wide variety of educational experience and have recently crossed over into the realm of education as a Special Education/At-Risk teacher with the Edgerton School District. My current position has me utilizing differentiated instruction and modification techniques with nearly 50 students throughout the day which will enhance my ability to tutor others who need help. My particular areas of expertise are Social Studies, Spanish, English and ASVAB/GED test prep. I am weaker in Math and Science.

I am a compassionate person who will do whatever it takes to help students succeed. I always encourage my students to ask as many questions as they need to so that they have a firm understanding of the material. I love seeing the growth in the individual student. Students who have had me as a teacher report that they thought they were incapable of doing math but after taking my course their confidence has exceeded their expectations.
I am a certified 6 - 12 Secondary Mathematics teacher. I have been teaching for 10 years with my last four being at the college level. I have been awarded the Who's Who a number of times. I just received my master's degree in mathematics from Marquette this spring.

A Little Bit About Me...

Obtaining a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering has exposed me to advanced courses of Math and Science, two subjects which have always fascinated me. I have pursued and achieved excellence in these areas all through my school years and my post graduation career as an industrial engineer has only advanced my knowledge in these areas. English language has been a strong interest of mine since an early age and I have actively cultivated that interest.
