I make a point to have fun with my students, and my teaching style relies heavily upon real world examples that my students can both relate to and enjoy. I stand firmly against simply giving my students answers, but rather employ a strategy of leading my students to discovering their own answers. After receiving my teaching degree in May 2004 I was a substitute teacher in Washington State for 6 months. Then I spent the next 27 (Jan. 2005- Apr. 2007)months working as a Teacher Collaborator in the United States Peace Corps. Upon successful completion of the Peace Corps I moved to London, England and taught 6th grade from 2007-2010. During that time I did 1-1 tutoring with 10 children for a total of 100 hours. I also know that kids have their own distinct personalities and I address each child as an individual person, with their own talents and ideas.
