A Little Bit About Me...

I would characterize my teaching style as relationally oriented. I want the student to know that I care about him or her. I may not articulate as much, but I want the student to see that I am giving my time to serve their needs and not my own. Loosely speaking, I am also a proponent of multiple intelligences. The creative teacher can usually identify a way to relate material and content using a methodology that connects. My teaching style is based in facts. I philosophically reject radical post-modernity which posits that truth is a moving target. The student does not have the right to tell me that 1+1 = 3 because 1+1 = 2. My public speaking class is extremely participatory, both so students can gain experience speaking in front of an audience and because this format seems to keep students more interested in the material. My experience teaching children in theatre was also very participatory. I believe that students learn best when they can understand a given concept from several different angles. I also believe that each student is different and that any teacher must tailor her lessons to the individual student's needs. This is especially true of one-on-one tutoring sessions.

A Little Bit About Me...

Since I was in high school I have been teaching my sisters to get their way around with Science/Math/English. I realized my understanding more towards this subjects as I went teaching Students through out my Under graduation. I got admitted in Rochester Institute of Technology, NY as masters student along with teaching assistance. I was thrilled by my experience to teach undergraduate Students and got very good recommendation from students. I plan to continue in same profession for sometime.

The Florida Writing Assessment was implemented in grades 4, 8, and 10 as required by a law passed by the 1990 legislature. Does your student need a tutor? Beginning in 2010, each essay was scored by one rater. In previous years, two raters were used and the scores were averaged. Prior to 2010, a student could have received a half-point score, such as 4.5; whereas since 2010, no half-point scores are possible. Additionally, beginning in 2010, each student within the same grade level was required to write an essay using the same mode of writing (narrative, expository, or persuasive).
