How do I summarize teaching in my life? I guess the best way to explain my teaching experience is to tell you a story. As a young girl I wanted to be a teacher. Because of my love of learning I taught all my siblings how to read. I know it is pretty funny but it is a true story. That led to my doing teaching seminars, which led to consulting, which led to training, which led to my working with individuals as a life coach. Currently, I work for the Saratoga Springs and Ballston Spa school districts as a home instructor for grades 6 to 12. Growing up I dealt with dyslexia. I understand that each and every kid has a different learning style and not one style is better then the rest. My experience teaching started when I worked for Northlands Job Corps Academy. The students that I helped usually came to me not for their classwork, but because they held an interest in learned how their computers and personal devices worked. I feel that most learning comes from performing an activity rather than being lectured, so I prefer to give students a chance to perform the work after I show them a few basics (supervised of course).
