Experience Summary
My education at NYU and my Bachelor of Science degree, gave me a solid foundation because I had the knowledge and confidence upon which to build my teaching career. The classes and student teaching experience exposed me to a wide range of teaching styles and demographics.
After having my own family, my empathy and understanding of children increased in a positive way.
I especially have enjoyed working with the developmentally disabled hand have helped them achieve goals that once seemed impossible to obtain.
My people skills have kept me available to keep an open line of communication between the school and the family.
Teaching Style
I have taught many different students from all types of backgrounds, from gifted to learning disabled. The reason I have success with these students is because I make learning fun and relevant. I develop creative tools that are of interest to that particular student, while cultivating a great deal of empathy. This is based on getting to know the family the child is a member of. By understanding the lifestyle,demographics and cultural nuances, I can determine any problems that may deter from learning, and any strengths which can be built upon. My goal is to create an individual program that allows the learner to achieve their own personal best without the pressure of group age standards.
