Teaching and School Counseling Services In One Place!

My style of education is to teach by modeling. Students need to see things in a step-by-step format with instructions, followed by an immediate example. I also provide sample argumentative essays for students who learn by seeing a complete model. My counseling style is to work with students, first by building a rapport and then using that as the foundation to get a feel for their college/career interests. I then look at their grades to help them build a custom transitional plan into early adulthood.

I currently attend graduate school at Stony Brook where I'm working towards a Master of Public Health degree. I have undergraduate degrees in Physical Therapy and Biomathematics. I am excellent with standardized test preparation, never having placed less than the 90th percentile in any standardized test. I have never been a formal tutor. Yet, essentially, I have been tutoring and aiding peers and family members since elementary school. Additionally, I have served as a Big Brother for Long Island Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Teaching style? I tend towards an extrinsic, formal, and authoritative style. That said, I'm pretty easy to get along with, quite patient, and kinda fun. And 'formal' doesn't have to mean rigid. I will work hard to adjust and refine lesson plans to enable success in your area of study.
