I believe that musicians are all at different points on the same curve, and that every student learns in a unique way. I am versatile in my teaching methods and flexible with the pace of students. I believe in instilling the correct skills and knowledge trumps over a period of time instead of cramming in new information at a rapid pace. I feel it is important to harbor a love of music most importantly and that music should be fun and educational. As a musician, I have taught two private students in Electric Bass, taught a master class for a high school level jazz combo, conducted a high school band for a piece I composed and arranged, and played gigs with talented musicians in the Dartmouth area. I love teaching students of all ages. It is very satisfying to see their eyes light up when they realize they got it. One method i use is to teach the the music that they love and apply the theory and technique to it, and gradually introduce them to more challenging works. I can improvise at a moments notice to help get the lesson across, even if it means focusing on one task at a time. My goal is to make the learning experience as pleasant as possible. Following school graduation, I have been actively teaching younger people the value of the trades. I work with them enhancing their math and geometry skills by leading by example; and showing them in an applied manner how their skills and education can be applied in the real world.. As a bachelors graduate with subject concentration in math and science, I am very involved teaching peers and younger people in a applied manner. My experience has been hands on teaching in the trades with skills in carpentry and math.

As an undergraduate student I double majored in Biology and philosophy. Biology has provided me with a strong understanding in chemistry, biochemistry, ecology, evolution, and physics. Along with that, my philosophy degree has provided me with the ability to clearly communicate my ideas to another person. I have a lot of patience which allows me to take my time when going over a concept to a student. I never feel the need to rush or come back to a topic later. I will cover it thoroughly.
