A Little Bit About Me...

During the past four years of my undergraduate study, I have been given many opportunities to work and explore outside of my degree in piano performance. I was able to take a class about working with exceptional learners. Outside of the classroom, I have had the opportunity to counsel children with special needs during summer programs and a winter ski program. I have also had the opportunity to work as a one-on-one aide for a child in a public school summer program. Recently, I have had the opportunity to tutor a junior high student in both math and English. I have worked with children with a variety of disabilities and needs. I was more of an instructor than a teacher. I was a day camp counselor at Solway House parent/child resort in Saugerties N.Y. I instructed kids how to swim, dive, play various sports and gave dancing lessons to the guests. As a high school student I tutored 7th and 8th graders in an after school community center. I was one of a few staff at the University of Connecticut to instruct graduates and staff in the use of the various electronic facilites available to them.
