I have over twenty years teaching in the public and private schools in New Jersey. I have taught English, Math, Social Studies, and Business. I am a NJ state certified teacher in elementary and secondary education and recently completed my special education certification so that students requiring special educational accommodations can be properly recognized and taught. Math to me is like a puzzle... if you can imagine the pieces in your mind, fitting them together in practice is so much easier. I am extremely patient and easy going, even in coaching, most kids gravitated to me because I could speak to them on their level. You have to explain it in a way that kids can understand. Positive feedback is very critical to let them know they are going down the right path.
I have lived in South Jersey all of my life. I received my degree in Accounting from Stockton and have spent most of my career in finance working my way up to Controller for several businesses. When I was laid off, I had always wanted to try teaching and I loved it. I love working with kids (I also coach baseball and football), I really get a kick out of passing my knowledge onto them and seeing their face when it sinks in.

I just graduated with a BA in Psychology and are two courses short of a minor in Spanish and Sociology. I've always been very strong in the English/Language Arts/Writing areas as well. I am currently a certified substitute teacher and also already do some elementary tutoring. Some of my previous tutoring experience include writing, some psychological statistics and some basic math/language skills.
I love to teach and help others in general. I always had difficulty when I was younger finding a tutor or some help in my studies that I could understand easily. A Little Bit About Me...

As a graduate of Lehigh University, I am interested in helping others learn about the subjects that I had become well acquainted with. I have a BA in Anthropology which I believe makes me a great candidate to teach a broad array of subjects including reading and writing, history, art, and cultural studies. In addition I have taken many art and architecture classes which makes me an ideal candidate for a holistic learning experience.
As a young man I had several problems with math. It turns out that I was unable to visualize what the equations meant in abstract algebra and calculus.
