Learners need to obtain information from a variety of stimuli to fully understand a concept. What is successful for one student may not work for an other. Therefore, I try to present each topic in several different ways. For example, on a recent unit in mass-mass stoichiometry, students were able to witness a demonstration, complete a laboratory experience, have discussions on the subject, and then practice. By breaking the information down to the simplest form and giving students a variety of avenues to understand, the students were able to succeed.
I began teaching and coaching swimming in 1980. In 1984, I extended my teaching experience by volunteering for the Eagle Mount program as a downhill ski instructor for students with several disabilities. During all my time as a student I tried to help my classmates to improve their learning and their grades by tutoring them. I have earned a bachelor degree in Industrial Engineer, which has enabled me to gain an understanding in many areas of math and physics. I am a Spanish native speaker, so I can help students in this language too. In my years of tutoring I have tutored students in mathematics (trigonometry, algebra), physics and English as a second language.
