I greatly enjoy working with children. I feel that every child absorbs information differently and a teacher should be able to identify and relate to that child. I recently moved to Arizona and received my substitute teaching certificate. I am a new college Graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Ag Leadership and Development. My teaching style is vary diverse when it comes to my students. I do not believe in one teaching style because there will never be just one learning style present with any child. Every child learns a different way in different subjects and I believe in discovering the child's learning styles and basing my teaching around that so they are able to learn to the best of their ability. I like to use different methods to compliment and challenge their learning styles and thought, but I also use what they understand the best to help them learn what they need to know and so they can become independent and learn even beyond that. I believe in Howard Garner's theory of teaching to the student style of learning. They are as follows: Visual, Auditory, Musical, Kinesthetic, Interpersonal and Intrapersonal. As I work with the student and get to understand their abilities and limitations I develop a style that will work the best for that particular student. I have worked with students of all grade levels from volunteering at the Cocopah Head Start preschool to working with high school students as a substitute teacher. I have an English as a Second Language endorsement and have worked with adults in improving the English level. I excell in creative writing and am currently assisting friends in obtaining their GED.
