My comments on tutoring Reading Comprehension : Can answer the question, what is of importance and why?
As a student, I earned a 3.87 in my major of English Arts, while both working as an employee for the school writing center and as a contributor for the school newspaper. I also did a lot of moonlighting outside of the writing center as a personal tutor for undergrads, high school, and elementary students, all with various experience in English as a language. I have produced over a thousand pages of academic writing during my time at school concerning a wide variety of subjects, which is a reflection of the broad English curriculum for the University at Albany and my minor of sociology. As an employee for the writing center I worked with students in such areas as the pre-writing stage, study habits, reading comprehension, properly citing work, grammar, letters of intent, creative writing, theses, and general academic writing.
