I have a bachelor’s degree from UC Davis in Renewable Natural Resources and a Clear Single Subject Credential in Biological Sciences and Foundational Math (all but calculus). I have home schooled my children, worked in a private school both tutoring and teaching and taught in a public high school over the last 22 years. My teaching style is very goal-oriented, yet flexible enough to accomodate a variety of methods. Some students learn best from lectures, other learn from visuals while some are much better at hands-on instruction and correlations/representations. As an Americorp participant during my early college years I learned of the many joys that teaching can give. I have a BS in general studies and very close to a BS in psychology, criminal justice, and English. I have taught at a college for 3 years, substituted for various school districts for 2, and I am currently finishing a full-time jr. High teaching position at Immanuel Christian School.

Children are amazing artists due to the fact that they don't censor themselves creatively like most adults tend to do. I teach, instilling confidence through positivity and constructive criticism. I may back track and ensure they understand the basic foundation of the principle they are learning, then move forward one step at a time, as they grasp each concept. A Little Bit About Me...

I really like to help people in general, that's the reason why I became a Resident Assistant. As a Resident Assistant I have aided many students with problems they may have in their first year of college, including tutoring them in subjects i am proficient in. I like to see people grow and learn over which is achieved by aiding a person in discovering and cultivating various talents.
My tutoring experience isn't really too official. I mostly just help people with College Algebra around the dorms. I am pretty good with teaching and helping with math, and could probably do it at a High School level. Not actually having a BS probably will just limit me to high school tutoring.
