I implement creativity, and ample amount of positive, fun energy into the way I teach. I believe the key to any child's learning is first instilling confidence into them. When a kid learns confidence, they begin to have the fuel needed to learn. As they grow in this confidence, they can begin to experiment in their learning and become creative in the skills they master.
I have tutored for Acers tutoring in Orlando for a full year. I have full experience with teaching reading and writing, as well as somer lower level algebra and mathematic skills. The kids have ranged from ages 8-14. As well, I have been giving guitar lessons to kids between the ages of 10-14. I have two bachelors degrees, however, I believe it is my experience teaching children that has helped me develop a good sense on how to approaching teaching scenarios. I have years of experience teaching children in academics, music, and dramatic arts, as well as coaching basketball and teaching golf at the professional level.
Each child is different. I always try to notice and acknowledge what benefits each student, as I think this applies to all forms of teaching from academics to athletics. Getting on their level is what ultimately benefits the child from the get go and gains their interest. If I'm interested, then the child is interested. I do my best to make sure the child is setting their goals and doing their best to achieve them in the way and style for which they are best suited.

A Little Bit About Me...

I love teaching and working with children. I believe for my experience that all kids can learn but in their own ways and time. This means that there are approximately three kinds of learning: visually (visual things help this kind of children to learn better like drawings or putting color to difference things), auditory (this ones like to learn having backgrounds of sounds. A Little Bit About Me...

When I begin tutoring a new student, my first objective is for us to get to know each other. The student will not be able to receive very much from me until he/she is comfortable with me. Once they feel that I care, they open up and the learning really begins! When I really get a feel for the personality and whatever particular challenges are unique for this person in this class, I am able to determine the best way to communicate the subject and improve the skills. As an art teacher of over 15 years, I have taught painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics, graphic arts, art history, and darkroom photography. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Arts at Christopher Newport University and my Master of Arts degree in Teaching and Learning (in the art classroom) from Nova Southeastern University.
