A Little Bit About Me...

I have not actually tutored students as a professional, but I have a talent for helping others. For example, in my last full time position as a Product Manager for an insurance company, I constantly received requests from fellow employees for assistance. The various requests I received included, but were not limited to, for help learning specific software applications and assistance in completing reports. I have a love of learning and especially learning about people. My teaching style varies based on the age of the student. I like to be a little more animated with my k-6 graders. On the other hand, with my 7-12 graders I focus more so on making a connection with the material--showing them how it relates to them.

I believe however the child needs the information, is how I will teach. Children have many different styles of learning and you have to be flexible for them to become successful. I believe Mathematics can be fun and entertaining. I want the best for every child out there.
I worked at Learning Center in Tupelo, MS for a year as a proctor for government issued tests and a mathematics tutor. I have not received my Elementary Education Bachelor's Degree yet, however, I am in the process of receiving it. I will graduate Dec. 2011. I have taken 21 hours in Mathematics so far at the college level, and love working with children. I have had to tutor from first grade to college level.
