I recently moved here from California. I have tutored fellow students in high school in Rhode Island, a child, grandchildren, and also tutored folks in California ranging in age from 13-30 in all types of math during the last ten years. Though I do not have a certificate, I plan on getting a temporary certificate in the next few months. I use a variety of methods such as graphically (visual), practice examples (tactile, repetition), repeating the rules/methods (aural) and occasional humor to help things stick!

I love math, but I am a Chemistry major at MSSU because i didn't find any attractive career as a Mathematician. I tutor a lot, mostly to y friends. I can help in pretty much any general subject like math, philosophy, drawing, painting, geography, and some English as well. I speak English, Gujarati, Hindi.I had my friends tell me that i should be a teacher because they like my teaching style. I am hands on teaching and want the students to understand what each part feels like on a computer. I have worked many jobs and I want to dip my feet into to tutoring to see what it is like to help teach people about Computer Technology. I have been in management, computer IT, radio, roofing, janitor, and even fast food. I like to work in big groups and I feel like I have a good speaking voice along with a good attitude to my students. If a student has a problem I will guide them to help and let them understand what they are doing wrong.

I have a BA in Creative Writing, which I have put to use not only in my writing but I am a proofreader to several other beginning author’s stories. They rely on me to fix their grammatical, spelling and usage errors so their writing flows more smoothly. In reading books I enjoy teaching others the overall theme, morals and observations that the author was trying to convey. I have developed my love for math and statistical formulas by applying what I learned in math classes to enjoy following sports teams stats better. I find that using numbers in several different areas promotes interest and learning. I believe that the best way for a student to learn is to explain the basics of which subject I am teaching, show a few examples, and then let them discover how to obtain the answers in their own way. As an administrator of a school I oversaw the education of children from Kindergarten through twelfth grade. I have eight years experience teaching algebra I, five years teaching business math. I have eleven years experience teaching English grammar from third grade through twelfth grade. I have taught fourth grade for three years, fifth grade for three years and sixth grade for two years. My goal in teaching is to provide the student with the tools to discover and learn new concepts and to apply this knowledge to the learning process.
