I have two decades of experience in education. My first 10 years were spent in adult education training adults to work in various organizations in the business world. My last 10 years have been spent in public education classrooms working as a teacher for elementary, middle, and high school students. I have taught core content courses at each level. I love working with children and young adults. As a Music major, I have been giving singing, piano, and theory and sight singing lessons for many years. As a gymnastics coach, I teach children about how their body works, basic science and physics concepts. For younger kids, I also include numbers, colors and coordination. I believe that when concepts are explained in a physical or unique way, the retention of that information is better. My teaching and tutoring experiences have involved learning about simple machines by creating levers with our bodies, reviewing counting, percentages and money through Monopoly, and improving writing by comparing and contrasting articles on current events printed by different newspapers.
