I have tutored ACT two sophomores and English to an 8th grade a few months back. I tutored almost every day during my senior year in high school based off of what I had gone through preparing for both SAT and ACT (35 ACT math/ 800 SAT math/ 800 SAT subject test math level 2/ AP Calculus AB (5) ). I am a huge advocate of learning 'why' something happens vs 'how' it happens. In mathematics, anyone can learn a formula, an expression, or an equation if they look at it enough times, but they would not know how to apply it in real life situations.
