I just enrolled in a Post-Masters Certification program that focuses in Literacy K-12. In August of 2006, I graduated from Lesley University with a Master’s of Education. In May of 2004, I received my Bachelors of Arts Degree from Merrimack College with a major in Psychology and a minor in Elementary Education. I hold my Massachusetts, Mississippi, and New Hampshire Teacher’s license for grades one through six. We just moved to Biloxi, MS in October because my husband is active duty military. Our previous station before Biloxi, MS was actually overseas in the United Kingdom where I substituted for the Elementary School on base. I taught 3’rd Grade for 2 years and have previous tutoring experience.

I believe learning should be fun and creative and that children should have an environment that is friendly and caring to learn in. I think teachers should be patient with their difficulties and take time to give them the one on one attention that they need. I like thematic units and hands on activities. I like to teach reading and english. I like to use whole group, small groups, paired reading activities. I like to use magazines, newspapers, children's books and other materials that interest the students to teach reading.
