With a degree in Marketing and a year of school for mechanical engineering I have completed a number of calculus classes throughout the years. I supported myself throughout college and beyond in the Food and Beverage Service Industry and took a job in the Insurance Industry after graduating. I am now in the process of starting my own company and am looking for extra work as well. I really enjoy teaching and have aided in teaching math to young family members and to children of my friends. Being someone who likes to see the "big picture" of concepts and ideas, I struggled through math as a child, believing that I didn't understand it. As a graduate of the top chiropractic school in the world, I have achieved a high level of education. I have a bachelor's degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Through out the years I have taught 5-8th graders in various subjects, as well as helped teach for a national board review company to chiropractic students all over the country in a variety of topics. I was also the editor-in-chief for the Palmer Triune, helping me obtain an excellent understanding and appreciation for the English language. My teaching style is different for each student. I have never considered myself a student that things come easy to. I always had to find a way to relate to the material, and when I tutor that is exactly what I try to achieve with each student. I graduated from UW-Madison with a BS in Dietetics. In order to obtain this degree, I had to take a wide variety of Science courses including: Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physiology, Anatomy, and many others. Not only am I well versed in Science, I have a background in Math too. In highschool, I completed the AP-Caluculus course with a score that allowed me to bypass any college math courses. I enjoy working with inquiring minds and solving problems. I teaching style is individualized because everyone learns in their own way. I like to get to know the prson by asking a few questions that can open up the problem as to why they do not understand a certain subject. Once I have a understanding of what the learning problem is, then I can come up with a game plan to how to make them understand how to conquer their problem. I have been learning everyday of my life, because there is always something new to learn. Life teaches many lessons but what I have come to learn is that education is very valuable. I volunteered for the Special Olympics and for the D.A.R.E program from Elementary students back in 2003 and 2008. With the Special Olympics, I helped cook and serve food to the contestants in the olympics and I also was there to be a friendly and supportive coach-assistant to the athletes. With the D.A.R.E program, I went to Elementary schools in the town of Faribault MN, and I worked along side with the police department to show and educate kids the dangers of meeting strangers and how to handle that type of situation. I don't have a wide teaching experience but I do enjoy working and helping Elementary or junior high leveled children.
