As a tutor of student athletes at Indiana University, I tutored students from all walks of life. I began by tutoring Biology and Spanish but the need for tutors in English, Writing, Chemistry and Statistics soon arose and I stepped up to fill those positions. Using previous knowledge from AP classes in high school, as well as recent knowledge gained from my classes, I was able to successfully convey new information in easy to understand and applicable terms to these students. I was responsible for teaching and supervising the laboratory portion of the high school Chemistry advanced placement class. In the evenings, I was also responsible for the two hour study hall sessions held with the entire class. This involved re-lecturing some concepts and also answering questions with students one-on-one. Later, I spend a school year as an after-school teacher in an elementary school which involved working on homework for a half hour everyday with 46 different students.
