The process is just as important as the product. If a student can come up with the correct answer, but he or she has no idea how or why it is correct or how they got it, I feel like their learning is incomplete. Especially in Math, but also in many other subjects, concepts build upon each other. For this reason, I like to explain not just *how* to get there, but also *why* we got that answer; then students have a firmer foundation for the trickier concepts. I love seeing the lightbulb "go on," when kids finally "get it."

Ever since I was young, I have always found joy in mathematics. Number puzzles, real life applications, and the teaching of math are all fascinating and enjoyable to me. I studied mathematics and economics in college so I could work on more advanced quantitative problems for a career.
