A Little Bit About Me...

I was at the ITT Nashville and Draughons College campuses for 9+ years and School Chair of the CAD/MM department at ITT for 3 of those years. I have taught multiple subjects during my tenure including almost all of the classes in GenEd and in math, physics, calculus. I am currently pursuing my Master's of Science at UTMartin in MSEd in Theory and Practice and finish next year. My 15+ years in engineering, B.S. in Physics, qualifies me. My teaching style centers around the idea that every kid learns differently. Some understand pictures better some words. Either way someone learns, they stay focused through fun, enthusiastic teaching. My teaching style varies with student learning styles. Although drill may be appropriate for some skills, my preference is project or problem based methods that draw on the learner's experiences and interests. I work from students' current skill levels, provide challenging problems, model successful learning skills, encourage students' to express creativity and intuition, and employ formative and normative assessments.
