A Little Bit About Me...

At the University of Tennessee every student is expected to fulfill certain core curriculum requirements in any degree program. As an AP student in high school, I tested out of U.S. History and freshman English/Composition. I tested out of the first year of Spanish via UT's foreign language placement exams as well. With 18 "free" credits under my belt from day one, I was able to pursue my love for writing in the journalism program. I have earned a BS in communications giving me pratical hands-on editing and writing skills, be it creative, technical, or persuasive. I completed my internship year at Farragut High School, where I taught both freshman and junior year writing and literature.

I received my BS in Accounting 1988. While getting my degree I was involved in the on campus tutoring program. I have tutored students in, accounting mathematics, philosophy, marketing, business law, finance, and religion. Since graduating from college I have had several training opportunities in various jobs. These jobs have given me a wide range of experience in training (tutoring) a wide range of people with various levels of education, and their ability to grasp the information required for the job. While completing my undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering at University of Idaho, I was often called upon to tutor people within the building where I lived during college. I also was employed by the University to grade papers and offer assistance to underclassmen in the Chemical Engineering department. From this experience, I have gained both the knowledge in math and science and the understanding of how to use different approaches with different people to deliver the lesson.
