A Little Bit About Me...

I would describe my teaching style as friendly. I try not to give off so much of teacher-student type atmosphere, because many children get discouraged and are not as comfortable and not as willing to learn.
I am currently a high school junior. That being said, I do not have a degree. However, I am in the top 20% of my high school class, I take only honors classes, and actually learn the material so I can tutor a student who needs help. I love learning math and science and I enjoy sharing the same love of learning with my students. I like seeing the look on their face when they really get it! Students requiring tutoring are sometimes in academic distress and have anxiety therefore I have a more easy going and patient style of tutoring than most. I believe I'm an effective tutor because I remember the exact same difficulties and questions I had as a student and can relate to their frustration. Most people as well as myself are visual learners thus I teach by working several examples and gradually increasing the difficulty at a pace set by the student.
