During my Junior year of high school I began to works as an Associate/Substitute preschool teacher for the Park Hill School District in Parkville, MO. I continued my work through their program during my breaks from being a student in college. On breaks, I was able to work approximately 40hrs/weeks. In spring 2008 I completed an internship in a 7th grade classroom for 4 months. In fall 2008 I completed an internship in an 8th grade classroom for 4 months. Also, in spring 2009 I am currently completing my semester of student teaching in an 8th grade classroom at Warrensburg Middle School in Warrensburg, MO.

A Little Bit About Me...

The most important thing to remember when teaching a child new concepts is patience. All children learn skills in different ways. Some catch on quickly, others need more time. Even the way in which you demonstrate how a problem is solved can make a difference. I usually try several methods for solving problems rather than insist that they learn the traditional methods only. The little bit of extra time spent giving them the optional techniques could make a world of difference in their educational success.
As a parent of two school-aged children I have had the oppurtunity to learn about the newest teaching methods employed by teachers at this time. We often work together on math and science. I am currently working on my teaching certification in middle school science, but have always been had excelent aptitude for mathmatics. I love helping people, love math and all sciences. Always trying different ways and methods with patient when I'm doing the job of tutoring. Always recognize what type of problems they have, whether it's academically or personally. When I tutor, I try not to tell students the answer, rather, tell them how to get the answer, give them some starting steps, describe the steps in a different problem so they can work out the answer by themselves and learn the way. I always trying to be friends with the students, care about their lives so that they will trust me and make the whole tutoring experience much more enjoyable and effective for both of us.
