I am a Sophomore at The University of Central Missouri. I have helped with younger siblings, cousins, and family friends study or work on their homework. Working with children is what I am passionate about and to help them understand something or get a boost in areas needed would make me happy as well as you, knowing your child is now understanding the task at hand. Children are being taught different ways to do basic math. Adults were taught adding the ones place, tens place, then hundreds place to come up with the right answer. Children are taught number bonds to come with the answer. It takes children an extremely long time to solve basic math problems because the children have to do multiple, unnecessary, and often confusing steps. I prefer to teach children the old-fashioned way of doing math as I believe this way is still best. I prefer a hybrid teaching style.
