As an instructional assistant for kindergarden I was responsible for assisting the classroom teacher with daily instrucion and activities. I provided individual instruction when needed and assisted in developing behavior modificaion plans.
I enjoy working with elementary aged children. I believe that all children want to learn but all have individual styles that an instructor must recognize. You can actually see the "a-ha" factor when a child has processed and understood something. That is my favorite expression. It looks like surprise and joy all in one facial expression. I graduated with a double major from Fairfield University where I was involved with volunteer groups that tutored middle school aged children from surrounding areas. Over the years I have also spent time as a nanny and have been in charge of homework and school projects.
