I am an ESL teacher with 5 years of experience. I earned a degree that corresponds to MA in Philology and English language. Having graduated from Tambov state university in Tambov, Russia, i worked in a public lyceum and later in a private language center. Having moved to Mexico in 2010, I applied to an internationally acknowledged language school Harmon Hall and was offered a position of ESL teacher, which I accepted. Teaching English as a Second Language to Spanish-speaking students helped master my English to a higher degree. I also taught Russian, giving private classes in Mexico.
I use different techniques to achieve the best results with different ages and choose the best option for certain tasks. I am a friendly, sociable and patient person and I really enjoy teaching.

My comments on tutoring English ESOL : I tutored ESL students for 3 years at an academy and privately. I am currently enrolled in a class to receive a TEFL/TESOL certification.

A student cannot learn unless he is comfortable and confident. My first priority before teaching is to make sure the student is relaxed and believes he can accomplish the goal. I also like to get to know my student to know what kind of learner he is and what he likes. My teaching style is "delight directed" whenever possible.
In 2001, I received my certification in Elementary Education from CCSU. I then substitute taught for the town of West Hartford for 2 years while I got married and had my son. He had a lot of health problems so the decision was made for me to stay home with him. When it came to Kindergarten he still had many health issues so we thought it was best to keep him home and I began to Homeschool him. I understand that children (and adults) have differennt learning styles and try to tailor my approach to the specific needs of the student. The bilingual students I teach have a unique challenge in that the letters of the alphabet represent different sounds in English versus Spanish.
