I graduated with my Bachelors degree in Elementary Education from Purdue University. With that, I had to complete many practical hours in the classroom as well as complete volunteer leadership hours outside of the university classroom. I had completed student teaching. After student teaching, I held a teacher assistant position as well as substitute taught in classrooms. Because I was licensed and a good teacher, I was called numerous times to be a sub. My teaching style would best be described as conversational at best, drawing out of the student, their knowledge or lack of knowledge. I have taught my two honors student sons that I add to their body of knowledge and they are to coalesce the information to their understanding.
Having a degree in Philosophy & Religion has many advantages in teaching. I have found to better understand a subject it is best to go and study many different resources for that subject, a macro-view. However the complicated subject is, a person who knows that subject will be able to present it in a simple concise manner.
