Elementary Social Studies Tutors & Teachers for Lessons, Instruction or Help in Walker, WV

In high school I helped tutor younger children. My freshmen year of college I volunteered as a tutor at Ely Chapman. I am currently a teaching assistant for an Anatomy lab. All of my experience has been one-on-one tutoring and I typically take a hands on approach to learning. Since I am a college student I am constantly learning new information and the most effective study skills.

I enjoy watching others learn and come to the realization that they can achieve their goals. My teaching/tutoring style is relaxed and pro-active. The more the student discovers on their own with only a little coaching and encouragement will last longer than if someone shows every step. I believe in a practical hands one real world method. If what the student is learning is not relavent to the real world and their lives they are less likely to learn it. I have 2 Years of teaching First Aid/ CPR/ AED at the American Red Cross. I also have 1 quarter of tutoring physics at Washington State Community College. I also instruct Pet CPR/First Aid for the American Red Cross. I love working and teaching children of all ages. Every child has the potential to be A students, but each child may learn in different ways. I will use different modalities or styles of learning to best fit each child. I am a very patient and outgoing person. I believe in respect of the child and teacher alike.
