My preferred teaching style is discussion with leadership. When the student can relate to the information through own experience or peer experience the information is better absorbed. In a classroom situation a certain amount of lecture is also needed to stimulate the conversation and present the subject materials. As a tutor it would be more a discussion and personal discovery that isn't as easy with a large class. I hold a wide variety of experience in both education and industry. I earned my AA and then pursued a BS degree in chemistry. After college I worked at a pharmaceutical manufacturing site working in the quality control department. I worked my way to lead laboratory technician then to the supervisor of the lab. During this tenure I was responsible for training the other technicians in methods and new techniques. I also helped develop a new system of training to help decrease the time needed to train an individual and remove unnecessary redundant tactics.
