Experience Summary
I have taught 15 years in the Missouri public school system. I have taught fine arts, K-12, throughout my career. I have organized and taught an at-risk study hall, provided after school tutoring for 6th graders. I taught 6th grade mathmatics. and tutored reading after school.
Teaching riding and horsemanship is what sparked my desire to teach. Before I became a teacher I worked with mentally challanged adults and was a job coach for individuals that had sustanined tramatic head injuries. I have 22 graduate hour in special education and have worked with special student in school and an institutional settings.
I love to help student learn how to learn.
Teaching Style
As and art teacher,a riding instructor, and a person that is interested in special students, I love to help my students learn how to think and solve problems in the style that best suits them. My style may be causual or it may be very structured and organized. In many instances there is more than one way to find the answer to a problem. It is so exciting to see a student find their way through learning problems.
