Musical is one of my top subjects! Music is my specialty. i am well versed in five different instruments, I have taken all four years of music theory, and have a comprehensive knowledge of the subject, having written and perform several compositions.

I have always been a hands on learner, so that is mostly the way i portray my lessons, by doing, instead of readin. However i also see the need in having to sit down and Get to work, because some thing are better learned on paper

I feel children are very self-aware and are very vulnerable to positive and negative feedback. Therefore, no matter how little progress is made, praise them. I was more of an instructor than a teacher. I was a day camp counselor at Solway House parent/child resort in Saugerties N.Y. I instructed kids how to swim, dive, play various sports and gave dancing lessons to the guests. As a high school student I tutored 7th and 8th graders in an after school community center. I was one of a few staff at the University of Connecticut to instruct graduates and staff in the use of the various electronic facilites available to them.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have always been extremely focused on education, both my own and that of others. Starting in elementary school, I was assigned as a peer tutor to other students who had difficulty grasping the material. I continued to tutor my classmates until graduation. While in high school, I also began tutoring students that were still in elementary and middle school. Although I considered education as a career, I instead opted to major in psychology, in which I earned a BA in 2007. I also hold an AA in Liberal Studies. While earning these degrees, I tutored fellow classmates in the areas of English, algebra, psychology, and history. I also tutored middle school level children in reading comprehension.

A Little Bit About Me...

During the past four years of my undergraduate study, I have been given many opportunities to work and explore outside of my degree in piano performance. I was able to take a class about working with exceptional learners. Outside of the classroom, I have had the opportunity to counsel children with special needs during summer programs and a winter ski program. I have also had the opportunity to work as a one-on-one aide for a child in a public school summer program. I have taught music and guitar since I was 20 years old. I continued to teach guitar throughout college where I double majored in Political Science and Theology and minored in philosophy. My grammatical skills are excellent as I currently write for two different publications on the internet.
