While I enjoy working with a younger population, I have had more experience with middle school, high school, and college students. I approach teaching as a challenge; as I know not every student learns the same way. I first start by finding a common ground; a level of knowledge if you will. Essentially I find what they know and where do they need help. From there I like to find out something the student has an interest in; thus allowing me to relate subjects to something they find interesting. I also like to constantly reinforce what the student has learned with questions and examples. I always use concrete examples that students can relate to when explaining a concept. I worked at LearningRX as a cognitive skills trainer where I worked with students who were having difficulty in school and I was able to find their areas of difficulty and help build those areas up while also helping with their memory, visual acuity, and processing speed.
