My commitment to tutoring and teaching has been evident since high school when I organized and participated in the National Honor Society’s tutoring program at a local middle school. From that point on, I have pursued opportunities to work with children and share my enthusiasm for learning and discovery. During my time at Davidson College, I participated in a weekly tutoring program in Charlotte, North Carolina, in which I worked with an at-risk student one-on-one on Math, Science, Reading, Social Studies, and Writing assignments. I continued in that direction and spent a summer working as a teacher for a program designed to help develop academic and social skills of children living in one of Charlotte’s economically disadvantaged neighborhoods.
