Reading and Phonics Specialist

I work through positive behavior supports, humor and style to motivate the student to understand the need to learn the core subject matter in order to proceed through high school. I am excellent at reading the needs of the student and creating lessons that are relevant, interesting and fun.

Dyslexia is one of my top subjects! I had dyslexia when i was younger it was tough and nobody even noticed until second grade. I received treatment and i was very fortunate that i was still young enough to have it reversed. I remember what it was like to have dyslexia and I know how to teach someone who has it.

I'm not very old yet but i know a lot. I've babysat my younger cousins and have had experience with many animals. ( Fish, Cats, Rabbits,Dogs,and birds.)I'm free from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. weekdays and 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. weekends and summer vacation. My teaching style would be classified as patient. I was diagnosed with a learning disability myself when I was in third grade, so I know how differently children learn. I was lucky enough to have patient resource teachers to work with and allow me to find my way of learning the material led by them, of course. So I think tutoring is extremely important for success of our children. I even received tutoring all the way up through high school and was grateful to my private tutor for, again, helping me to learn the material in a way that made sense to me and I strive to do the same for the children I teach.
