Full of energy and determined to help your child succeed!

I have always wanted to teach! So any opportunity I got in high school I took it! I was enrolled in the teaching academy all through high school. Through this academy I got to intern/teach many different grade levels. I started with a kindergarten class and then moved up to 6th grade P.E. and Science, then I moved to 3rd grade. I was also hired by the school district to be an AVID tutor for 7th and 8th graders. I have danced most of my life so when I was offered to co-choreograph the plays at my old Middle School I took it and did that for four years. I am also currently volunteering at my church to teach a class for 3rd graders on Sundays.

When I was in elementary school I would help my mother with daycare at our home. I would teach the children new concepts and play with them. During high school I joined the pathfinder club and taught some of the younger children. During college, I tutored elementary children in reading and in math and would make interventions for them. I graduated from Southern Adventist University December 2018 with a bachelors in elementary education. I have spent time substitute teaching in elementary classrooms, working as a behavior teachers assistant, and working at summer camps.
I love making lessons fun and interactive for children. If a children does not understand a concept one way I find other ways to explain it.

I recently graduated with my Bachelors from the University of Tennessee. My degree is in English, but I have tons of experience tutoring in just about everything. The ages I have tutored most is older elementary, middle, and high schools as well as college. I can especially help prepare students for college and help them succeed in college. I have been an elementary education classroom teacher for 30 years. I have taught in Walker County, Hamilton County, The Bright School, and Cumberland Hall Psychiatric Hospital for children and adolescents. I have taught in a variety of settings and enjoyed each one. I would enjoy continuing to help in the education of any student who would need my assistance.
