Social Studies is one of my top subjects! High school AP student with A's in every social studies class taken

I am hands on. I personally learn best from things like powerpoints and handouts. This is also the way I tend to teach others.
I am a high school senior in the AP/Honors program at Warner Robins High School. I have two little sisters who I have tutored since they began school. On average, they have scored higher on tests when I have helped, particularly in the area of social studies. I have also helped multiple students at my school. The average that they score on a test is typically ten points higher than when they study by themselves and, in some cases, twenty points if the student does not study at all. The results are typically better in social studies, the subject which I am most proficient in, but all subjects tend to shoe significant improvement.

I have taught two years of middle school and home schooled my daughter. I have worked as a substitute teacher on and off for several years. My emphasis in college was English and Math so I feel very comfortable teaching either of these subjects as well as reading.
My teaching style is flexible. Students learn in different ways and at different paces. It is my job to discover how the students learn and what they respond best to. I began volunteering in a literacy program that sought to help children and adult improve their reading comprehension skills. As a substitute teacher I never really was able to develop a specific style of teaching. Each teacher had their own way of doing things and each class was different. However, I feel the best way for anyone to learn be it adult or student is to let the student take the lead. As a College Graduate, I was very driven to excel and found teaching to be very rewarding. I have the experience of teaching abroad, most recently in Saudi Arabia. I taught non-english speaking women. I have also taugh children in the preschool level.
