Teaching has been my focus for the past 25 years, resulting in a bachelors degree in Psychology and a masters degree in Classical Archaeology and Art. I was an Assistant Curator of Ancient Art, teaching the university's Honors courses in Classical Studies and giving numerous lectures. By writing various papers and a master's thesis, I am experienced in research, writing and presentation. I have taught history to high school students for six years, taught Girl Scout leaders and girls in my own troop for ten years, tutored Native American college students in all subjects and taught vocal lessons.
I love to teach people of all ages, developing great relationships. I recently relocated to Portland from the New York City / New Jersey area after working in the e-marketing department at Carnegie Hall. I've studied piano throughout my life, starting at age 7, and graduated Westminster Choir College in Princeton NJ with a Bachelor of Arts in Music in 2005. While at Westminster, much of the curriculum I studied was focused on music education and piano pedagogy. I have experience teaching private piano lessons to all ages (as young as 5 and as old as 70), teaching music in elementary school classes, and tutoring other college students.
