I believe in personal interaction with students – making them write, making them read – going over every detail, looking at the issues (grammar, punctuation, syntax, coherent structure (logic, unity, transitions, parallelism,)) and then re-writing and re-reading. The key to doing well in English is understanding basic structure and making it become second nature when writing. Through personal interaction, the process can be simplified by working hands on with each sentence and paragraph. A student learns best when he/she actually reads and writes and has someone to work with on the structure – through a workshop type approach – writing and re-writing. My teaching style would be more of a demonstrator or personal model. I am more interested in encouraging student participation and adapting their presentation to include various learning styles. As a student in high school, I always have had a passion for math, as well as a passion to teach. I earned my Associate's Degree in Math Education from Mary Holmes College & went on to pursue my Bachelor's Degree from Mississippi State University. Even while pursuing my degrees, I was a Substitute Teacher for the West Point School District for almost 4 years. I then became a Teacher Assistant for the Starkville School District, and now I am a Pre-K Teacher for Oktibbeha COunty School District.
